Located at 2 Rue des Palmiers in the charming coastal town of Lège-Cap-Ferret, Chez Boulan is not merely an oyster bar; it's a soulful celebration of the sea. As you step into this seafood haven, prepare to be enveloped by the delightful marine atmosphere, accented by stunning views of the surrounding bay.

Chez Boulan specializes in exquisite, freshly harvested oysters from the local bay. Each bite transports you directly to the ocean, where the flavor bursts with a briny freshness that reflects the quality of the waters they come from. Complement your oysters with bulots (sea snails) and crevettes (shrimp) that offer a delightful contrast—sweet and succulent. Pair these delicacies with a carefully selected wine, perfectly curated to enhance your culinary experience. As Dr. Zivile G notes, the wine selection is "stunning" and pairs impeccably with the fresh seafood.

The ambiance at Chez Boulan is nothing short of magical. Customers rave about the breathtaking views of the bay, with outdoor seating that allows you to soak in the serene surroundings as you enjoy your meal. Kimmen Sjolander perfectly captured the essence of dining here, describing it as a “divine setting” that is conducive to relaxation and unwinding over good food and great company.

Service is equally paramount at Chez Boulan, featuring a team that is as friendly as they are knowledgeable. Your dining experience is enhanced by staff who are eager to share their passion for seafood and ensure every detail is attended to—a sentiment echoed by numerous patrons. Oscar Yu shares, "the waiters were lovely," which underscores the warm hospitality that makes Chez Boulan stand out.

Even if you aren't an oyster aficionado, the diverse menu offers something for everyone. While the establishment is proud to present their seafood specialties, Isobel Zhang highlights the enjoyable experience for non-seafood lovers, who can indulge in delicious patés and exquisite wines while relishing the captivating views.

Whether you seek a casual lunch or a romantic dinner, Chez Boulan is the perfect spot to savor the flavors of the sea amidst breathtaking vistas. It is indeed worth a little detour, as Simon Lynen states, emphasizing that everything from the oysters to the service is “perfect.” Don’t miss your chance to experience this gem on the coast of France.

Wow, what a spectacular setting! We aren't into oysters, alas, but they also serve two different pates and wines, so we stopped for an hour to enjoy the evening. Friendly service, and a divine setting. (Our pictures show the view from our table.)

Everything is perfect here: the oysters, crevettes, pâté and a perfectly matching wine. Of course the service is top notch too. Well worth a detour of any length :)

It is not a restaurant but an oyster farm so they can only provide bulots, crevettes and les huites, of course wine and bread, that are the principle for French people. The oysters are super fresh, big and juicy. We ended up eating twice "every thing on the menu" the terrace outside offers also a fantastic view. It is a bit far from the port (compare to other very touristic restos) but it definitely worth the trip (in the end its only 25mins by walking, its not that far). I highly recommend it!!

We had an amazing oyster degustation! The staff were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. The oysters were really special, fresh and full of flavor & the bulots were delicious too. The wine was stunning and paired perfectly with everything. Plus, the view was just incredible. Highly recommend this place!

That’s an absolute 5*. A cute small place in an old-fashioned cabane, excellent and charming service. We only had oysters, those were wonderful wonderful! It was kind of chilly, so we were sitting inside, can’t say how it is outside.
